About the FЯAME Festival

The predecessor of the FЯAME Festival was established in 2004 under the name Galactoria, with the aim of providing graduating students in acting and theatre directing with an opportunity to present their work to the public and to professionals in the field.

Since then, the festival’s program has continuously expanded, reflecting the increasingly diverse educational profile of the Faculty while remaining faithful to the original vision of its founders. In parallel, the CineMedia Gala also developed as an annual event dedicated to showcasing the work of students and emerging artists in the fields of film, photography, and media.

The year 2024 marked a creative period of reimagining and restructuring for the festival. As a result, the event evolved into a unique platform that brings together, within a concentrated timeframe, artistic and academic productions created by undergraduate and master’s students from all departments and specializations of the Faculty, in both Romanian and Hungarian, alongside projects and activities developed by faculty members.

In 2026, the FЯAME University Theatre and Film Festival will take place between May 22–31 under the subtitle PRACTICING THE FUTURE.

Through its proposed theme, the festival explores the ways in which artistic and professional practices are transforming, adapting, and finding new forms of expression in a world shaped by accelerated transitions and continuous change.

Building upon the valued traditions of previous editions, FЯAME presents theatre performances, films, and artistic research projects developed within the Faculty, while also creating a program connected to innovative artistic forms and contemporary interdisciplinary practices.

The festival also functions as a meeting platform that facilitates connections between graduating students and the professional artistic community throughout the country, while encouraging dialogue both with audiences interested in the arts and with society at large.
